Our History

Our father Milton Price started the company back in 1965 at the age of 44 at 48 Phillips Road in Charters Settlement, where the company still remains today. Milton’s sons Brian, Doug, Phil and son in-law Freeman are running things today and we can proudly say we have our third generation working with us.

Price Clydesdales

The passion for horse power started at a very young age for Milton W. Price, the founder of M.W. Price & Sons Ltd. His love for draft horses began as a youngster helping his father in the woods. It didn’t take long for Milton to realize that his true love was for the Clydesdales, better known as the gentle giants. This is what he filled his barn with as part of advertising. Milton showed his first horses at the Fredericton Exhibition in the early sixties with Owen Stairs by his side. Milton continued to show horses his entire life. Milton’s granddaughter Sara Hiscock Hayes also had his passion for Clydesdales and started helping and driving the horses in the early 90’s. Sara, her husband Jon Hayes and her parents Freeman & Maxine Hiscock continue to successfully show the Clydesdale horses and proudly represent the Price name.

Dougie's Place

Tragedy brings heartbreak like nothing you’ve ever known. From loss comes a new normal that we have to navigate through every single day. What makes that new normal a little easier to swallow is Family and community support.

Douglas Wesley James Hiscock was born on September 9th, 1981 to Maxine and Freeman Hiscock. He passed in a snowmobile accident on January 15th, 2011. Dougie worked for the family business and seemed to be the front runner to someday be at the helm of the company. Sadly we’ll never see that happen.

His life was short but was lived to the fullest every single day. He survived his first bout of cancer at 18 and his second bout at 21. He brought love, laughter and some smart assed remarks to just about everything he did.

After Dougie’s accident there were many lost souls searching for the answer to “why him”. Even to this day we still wonder. For having lived a short life the memories we all have are still fresh in our minds, even ten years later Dougie’s name is still mentioned and not only by friends and family but the community as well.

It was overwhelming to see so many people come together to honor Dougie’s memory by erecting “Dougie’s Place”. To know people will always have a place to stop by and keep warm and maybe reminisce is a heartwarming feeling. Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough to those that spearheaded the idea and donated time, material and maintain “Dougie’s Place” year after year. Our hearts will be grateful for all you’ve done!
